Newly arrived Sudanese refugee families in the Chadian border town of Tine are facing alarming shortages of food and water

Newly arrived Sudanese refugee families in the Chadian border town of Tine, fleeing intensified violence in al-Fashir in Sudan’s North Darfur region, are facing alarming shortages of food and water.

With international assistance barely reaching the area, the families are relying almost entirely on donations from other refugees, many of whom arrived only weeks earlier and are themselves struggling to survive.

Humanitarian workers say the influx has overwhelmed already stretched resources, leaving thousands exposed to hunger, dehydration and illness. Conditions are deteriorating rapidly as fighting around al-Fashir continues to drive civilians across the border in search of safety
