That means the world football governing body will effectively create a trial for the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada next summer. FIFA has often tested innovations at its competitions, including semi‑automated offside technology and referees announcing VAR decisions to the crowd, and could use the same mechanism to begin reviewing corners.
