South Africa’s (SA) Proteas women’s team Captain, Laura Wolvaardt emphasised the team’s eagerness to begin the Proteas Women’s T20 International (T20I) series against Ireland, with the opening match taking place at the World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town
The match will get underway at 14h00  Wolvaardt addressed the media on Thursday, reflecting on the team’s preparations and what they expect from their Irish opposition during the three-match series at home, which will also take the teams to Paarl and Benoni for the second and third T20Is.
“They are a good side ands I think they have a lot of  good individual players. Gab by Lewis has played all over the world, and Pendergrest she is really a good player and I think players like that can take the game away from you. We need to be spot on with our plan with some of the big players. We will have to be on it on the day as they have players who can take the game away,” she said.
