Australian airline, Qantas, has officially launched a new direct route from Perth to Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, South Africa (SA) this morning, at a ceremony in Sandton.
The airline is also rolling out a Perth to Auckland route from today, as part of its strategy to position Perth as a major international hub.
SA’s Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille has welcomed the Johannesburg route, describing it as a historic milestone that strengthens trade ties and opens new opportunities for tourism and business.
