AU to discuss preparations for the Africa–France Summit

African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf met with George Orina, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the AU, and Alexis Lamek, France’s Ambassador to the AU, to discuss preparations for the Africa–France Summit.

 

The summit, under the theme “Africa Forward”, is scheduled to take place in Nairobi in 2026 and will be co-hosted by Kenya and France. During the meeting, the two Ambassadors extended a formal invitation to the AU Chairperson to attend the event.

 

The discussions highlighted the ongoing partnership between African nations and France, as well as shared priorities in advancing continental development ahead of the summit.
