Nelson Chamisa, has announced his return
Zimbabwe’s former opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa, has announced his return to the political arena.

Chamisa shook the political world in January 2024 when he announced that he had quit his party and abandoned politics.

At the time, he claimed that his political party, the Citizens Coalition for Change, which he had founded in 2022, had been contaminated and hijacked by his rival, Emmerson Mnangagwa, and his government.

Chamisa was Mnangagwa’s main challenger in 2023.
He garnered 44% of the vote, while Mnangagwa won with 52%.
Chamisa has also vowed to fight hard against Zanu-PF’s bid to extend Mnangagwa’s tenure.

A new rallying call from a captain who once abandoned his ship and left it in limbo, divided and without a leader.
