The South African (SA) Border Management Authority (BMA) has beefed up operations to clamp down on criminal activity at the country’s border posts.
This comes as thousands of travellers were processed at the Lebombo border post, despite long, snaking queues forming from the early hours of this morning.
BMA Commissioner Doctor Michael Masiapato says additional officials have been deployed to the border post.
He says this is to cope with the increasing number of travellers crossing into Mozambique, particularly during the festive season.
