South Africa’s (SA) Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party has condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland as an independent state, saying the move threatens Somalia’s territorial integrity.

In a statement, the EFF described the decision as “destabilising for the Horn of Africa”, claiming it forms part of broader geopolitical efforts to expand Israeli influence on the continent.

The party has also warned that the move could undermine Somalia’s standing in international institutions.
