After a breakthrough season in which he reclaimed the national crown for the first time since 2022, Dambile has already begun planning for the year ahead. Retaining the 200 metre title tops his priority list, with the sprinter believing a successful defence would provide a strong foundation for the rest of the season.
Dambile is also targeting qualification for the Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, in July and August 2026. He hopes to secure places in both the 100 metre and 200 metre events, a goal that will require consistent performances throughout the domestic and international calendar.
The sprinter said the past season restored confidence in his abilities and reaffirmed his long-term ambitions on the global stage. He is expected to fine-tune his programme in the coming months, balancing national competitions with key qualifying meets.
