The bust will be unveiled on Women’s Day next year. The council’s Chairperson, Neermala Thool says this is a great initiative.

“As Chairperson of the Montaj-Krum-Ashen Cultural Council, we are a group of ladies and we are always looking out to honor women as such. It occurred to us that, you know, I think there’s nobody greater right now than Babita Deokaran. And uh, with Women’s Day coming up on August 9, we thought it would be ideal to honor her, and uh, for the society, for our community to know the importance that women play in society,” she said.
