Golf icon Tiger Woods marked his 50th birthday on Tuesday, a milestone that makes the 15-time major champion eligible to compete on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.

Woods has not yet indicated when or where he plans to return to competitive golf as he continues to recover from a series of health setbacks. The past season was the first time in his career that he did not feature in a single PGA Tour event.

In March, Woods ruptured his left Achilles tendon while training at his Florida home ahead of the Masters, dealing a major blow to his hopes of returning to action in 2025. Later in the year, on October 10, he underwent another back operation, replacing a disc in his lower back, the latest in a long line of surgeries that have hampered his playing schedule.
