Wilderness Search and Rescue teams say the man’s body was retrieved following a coordinated search. Spokesperson for the rescue team, David Nel, says the deceased was taken off the mountain with a helicopter.

“Following a coordinated search and rescue effort, the individual was located earlier today; unfortunately, they were found deceased.​The deceased was successfully extracted from the mountain via helicopter and has been transferred into the care of the SA police.​Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time. We would like to thank the rescue teams and volunteers who assisted in the recovery operation,” he said.
