South African (SA) low-cost carrier FlySafair has been named the most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa, recording an on-time performance score that outstrips many of its regional competitors and even exceeds the figure achieved by the world’s top-ranked airline.
The recognition reinforces FlySafair’s reputation for reliability. Since beginning operations in 2014, the SA airline has regularly featured among the globe’s most punctual carriers and has collected a series of international awards for keeping to schedule.
The carrier enjoyed further success in 2025 when it was voted Best Airline at the SA Civil Aviation Authority Excellence Awards. That same year the SA company also secured the respected Skytrax distinction for Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa, a prize based on passenger surveys and service assessments.
FlySafair says its performance reflects sustained investment in fleet management and turnaround procedures. The airline believes punctuality remains one of the most important factors for travellers when choosing a budget carrier, particularly as air traffic across Africa continues to grow.
Industry figures note that the latest accolade positions the SA operator as a benchmark for efficiency in the region and highlights the progress made by airlines based in SA in recent years.
