The South African Broadcasting Corporation News Specialist Correspondent Sophie Mokoena says if the United States (US) is able to take the action it took against Venezuela, it raises questions about what might prevent similar action from being taken elsewhere.
Mokoena warned that the developments in the Venezuela invasion could have wider implications, saying any oil producing country should be concerned.
Her statement follows the US’s invasion of Venezuela and capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
Meanwhile US President Donald Trump says what he describes as interim authorities in Venezuela would be turning over between 30 and 50 million barrels of what he called high quality sanctioned oil to the US.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the oil would be sold at market price.
