At least seven people were killed and three injured in clashes between police and opposition supporters in central Uganda overnight following national elections, a local police Spokesperson told Reuters this Friday.

Witnesses reported that tensions escalated overnight as authorities attempted to disperse demonstrations, which erupted in protest against the election process.
