Death toll in SA province floods rises to 20

The Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in South Africa’s (SA) Mpumalanga province has confirmed that another person has died in the severe floods

This takes the death toll in the province to 20. The number of deaths in Mpumalanga and Limpopo following heavy rains that have caused the floods now stands at 31. The Department’s Spokesperson, Freddy Ngobe says the

“Unfortunately, the number has just increased. Note that we do have missing people. As we speak now, we are standing at 20. One man had suffered injuries following the collapse of a house or walls. He unfortunately succumbed to injuries. So, now we can confirm that we are at 20. And then with houses, we are sitting at just over 1 300,” he said.
