Ramaphosa appoints Advocate Dinkie Portia Dube as Deputy Public Protector

South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Advocate Dinkie Portia Dube as Deputy Public Protector of the Republic of SA for a term of seven years, effective from February 1,  2026.

Dube who is currently the Director-General of the Public Service Commission has more than 20 years of experience in the public sector with expertise in oversight, complaints management and investigation.

Spokesperson to Ramaphosa, Vincent Magwenya, in a statement says that Ramaphosa wishes her well in her new role.

“Ramaphosa has made the appointment of Dube as the Deputy Public Protector of the Republic of SA in terms of Section 2A1 of the Public Protector Act of 1994, more importantly on the recommendation of the National Assembly.

He wishes Dube well in her new role in the Public Protector as a supreme administrative oversight body with the power to investigate, report on, and remedy improper conduct in all matters of the state.”
