Senona close relationship with attempted murder accused, Vusumuzi “Cat” Matlala will remain a focus. Yesterday, he testified that he enjoyed a brotherly relationship with Matlala since 2019. He has also testified about a meeting between Matlala and the Provincial Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi that took place in Umhlanga in Durban last year.
Senona testified that the meeting between Matlala and Mkhwanazi was in relation to the purchase orders of a police contract. He further defended his decision to accompany Matlala to the meeting, saying that he saw nothing wrong in accompanying his younger brother as he was not a full participant in the discussions. Senona has been accused of leaking sensitive information to Matlala and using his position to benefit members of the so-called Big Five cartel.
