South Africa’s (SA) Democratic Alliance party Leader, John Steenhuisen has announced that he will not be standing for re-election as party leader
Steenhuisen will address the media tomorrow where he started his political career some 30 years ago. Despite this developments, the party’s Federal Chairperson, Helen Zille has denied any tension within party ranks.
“Last month, Dion George resigned from the party including his position as Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister. He cited what he calls an intolerable environment, alleged capture of the party by the African National Congress and a smear campaign led by Steenhuisen,” she said.
