Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has hosted high-level talks in Entebbe as African leaders

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has hosted high-level talks in Entebbe as African leaders intensify efforts to ease tensions in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The meeting on Tuesday brought together Togo’s President Faure Gnassingbé, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, alongside mediators from the African Union. Discussions focused on stabilising the conflict-hit eastern regions of the DRC, which have been plagued by violence and humanitarian challenges.

Former Nigerian President Obasanjo has highlighted the need for dialogue and regional co-operation, warning that the situation requires urgent attention to prevent further escalation.
