The administration of US President, Donald Trump has sent at least 15 third-country deportees to eSwatini since July last year, as part of its crackdown on illegal immigration.
Eswatini received $5.1 million as part of the deal. The applicants in the case had claimed that the agreement was unconstitutional because it was not submitted to parliament for approval and the terms were not disclosed. The case was dismissed on the grounds that the applicants did not have a direct interest in the matter and therefore did not have the right to bring it to court.
