Ten countries have reaffirmed their diplomatic relations with Namibia, highlighting priority areas of co‑operation including trade, tourism, infrastructure development and exchange programmes.
On Monday, President Netumbo Nandi‑Ndaitwah received letters of credence from the envoys during a ceremony at State House, formally accrediting them to serve in the country. The countries represented were Kenya, Botswana, Gabon, New Zealand, Georgia, Ireland, Tunisia, Mauritania, Vietnam and Guinea.
The move signals renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding collaboration in sectors seen as critical to Namibia’s economic growth and development.
Gabon’s Ambassador to Namibia, Edwige Koumby Missando, said the ceremony marked an important step in deepening partnerships between Namibia and the represented nations.
“This is a moment to reaffirm our commitment to working closely with Namibia in areas that matter for development, trade, tourism, infrastructure and people-to-people exchanges. We see great potential to strengthen co-operation for the mutual benefit of our countries,” she said.
