Zambia’s Cornelius Mweetwa, Minister of Information and Media, has called on public media outlets to provide balanced reporting of all political parties as the country prepares for its upcoming general election.

Speaking at a meeting with leaders of public media houses in Lusaka, Mweetwa said fair and unbiased coverage is essential to ensure that the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and with integrity.

“Public media must give equal attention to all political parties. This is crucial for building trust in the electoral process and supporting democracy in Zambia,” Mweetwa said.

His comments come as Zambia approaches a pivotal vote, with citizens and stakeholders calling for transparent and credible reporting from all news outlets.
