World Bank has committed $400 million to Lesotho

World Bank has committed $400 million to Lesotho to advance inclusive growth, strengthen human capital, and expand employment opportunities.

The financing is expected to support programmes aimed at improving education and skills development, while creating conditions that encourage enterprise and private sector participation. Authorities say the investment will help widen access to economic opportunities and improve livelihoods.

Lesotho’s relative political stability has also played a role in attracting international support and investor interest, reinforcing confidence in the country’s reform trajectory.

Rapelang Radebe reports from Maseru that the funding forms part of ongoing efforts to support sustainable development and job creation in the mountain kingdom.
