A group of former miners have gathered outside the Ekapa Minerals mine in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa (SA) to offer moral support to the families of those still trapped underground.
Rescue operations have entered day three, with five workers still trapped following a mud rush incident earlier this week.
Former mine worker, Law Mogashoa has expressed concern about the dangers of working underground, describing it as a highly challenging profession.
He alleged that while management often emphasised safety, their actions did not always reflect that commitment, with production frequently taking priority over safety measures.
