Saudi Pro League has reminded Cristiano Ronaldo that no individual, no matter how prominent, can influence decisions beyond their club, as speculation grows over his future at Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo was left out of Al-Nassr’s squad for Monday’s league clash against Al-Riyadh. Portuguese outlet A Bola reported that the Portugal forward refused to play, reportedly frustrated with the way the club is being managed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Sources told BBC Sport that Ronaldo’s frustration was linked to former Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema’s recent move to league leaders Al-Hilal from Al-Ittihad earlier this week.
