She explains that this year’s edition, scheduled for May 23, is too close to both the Two Oceans Marathon and the Comrades Marathon, making it difficult to fit into her programme. With the Cape Town Marathon falling between the Two Oceans and Comrades, Steyn says it is not feasible to compete in all three events at her desired level.
“News for me the Cape town marathon is too close to running two oceans and comrades. It’s already very close to each each and I know I have done it in the past and I will not change my plans now . It would have been wonderful to run Cape Town as we missed out last year. I will be watching and cheering everyone from afar,” she said.
