The United Arab Emirates, who were put into bat, were restricted to a paltry 122 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Corbin Bosch was exemplary with the ball and took three for 12 in his four overs.

The Proteas scored the winning with 40 balls remaining and just four wickets down.

Aiden Markram’s men open their Super Eight campaign in Ahmedabad on Sunday when they take on co-hosts India, followed by a match against another in-form side, the West Indies, next Thursday.
