A Sudanese medical charity says at least 28 people have been killed following an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Mastariha, located in North Darfur State.

The Sudan Doctors Network said the assault also resulted in the destruction of the area’s only health centre, further limiting access to medical services in a region already grappling with severe humanitarian challenges.

According to local media reports, the RSF had reportedly targeted a tribal leader who had recently switched his allegiance from the paramilitary group to the Sudanese army. However, reports indicate that the intended target survived the attack.
