Khamenei was killed in joint US and Israeli airstrikes
Mourners in Iraq have held a symbolic funeral procession for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, days after he was killed in joint United States (US) and Israeli airstrikes.
Hundreds gathered in the holy city of Najaf, carrying a symbolic coffin and Iranian flags, condemning what they called American and Israeli aggression.
The killing has sent shockwaves through the Shiite Muslim world, raising fears of a wider regional backlash.

“It is a symbolic funeral, which we consider a condemnation of the forces of tyranny, imperialism, and the Americans, so that they can see, even if you killed him, he remains in our hearts and our conscience. This funeral is a thorn in their eyes.”
