Madagascar’s President Michael Randrianirina, has dismissed the entire cabinet, including the Prime Minister, just months after assuming office in October 2025.

The Presidency has not provided an official explanation for the sweeping changes, leaving many to speculate on the motivations behind the move.

Sources suggest the reshuffle is part of Rajoelina’s plan to bring in new faces aligned with his administration, moving away from officials connected to the previous government.

Political analyst Dennis Mberu says the decision has stirred cautious optimism among young people in the country. “Randrianirina is young, and the new government promises fresh faces. But the real test will be whether young leaders are included to steer the economy forward,” he said.
