SA currently has two operational crude oil refineries.
The Mineral and Petroleum Resources Department in South Africa (SA) says there is no immediate risk of fuel shortages in the country.
The Department says it is in continuous contact with local oil companies to ensure the stability and security of fuel supply.
According to a statement released on Tuesday night, the government says it is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and their potential impact.
SA currently has two operational crude oil refineries, the National Petroleum Refiners of SA and Astron Energy, in addition to the Sasol Secunda coal-to-liquid plant.
