Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Elias Magosi, has pointed out the urgent need for regional cohesion as global geopolitical pressures intensify.
Speaking at the opening of the SADC Council of Ministers’ Meeting in Pretoria South Africa, Magosi said that member states must be more deliberate, united, and innovative in their approach. He highlighted the SADC Regional Development Fund (RDF) as a key instrument to drive transformation across the region.
“The current geopolitical storm is a stark reminder that we must shift gears, be closer and more united, and innovate,” Magosi said. “The RDF is our vehicle for transformation. Without it, we stand still. With it, we can boldly move forward together.”
The remarks come as SADC seeks to strengthen regional integration and economic resilience amid rising global uncertainties.
