The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) says it is closely observing the developments in the Middle East and their potential impact on global shipping routes.
SAMSA Chief Executive Officer Dennis Mqadi, says they are equipped to support all vessels choosing to navigate past SA’s coastline.
This as they anticipate a possible increase in maritime traffic.
Mqadi also says they are ready to provide services to ensure the secure and efficient passage of all ships.
He says they include navigational guidance, maritime domain awareness updates, and safety information.
