President Cyril Ramaphosa has warned those involved in corruption that they will face consequences

South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has warned those involved in corruption that they will face consequences, saying law enforcement agencies are being strengthened to tackle graft.

Speaking during Human Rights Day commemorations, Ramaphosa described corruption as a serious threat that deprives citizens of basic services and undermines their dignity.

“Corruption is a scourge we must rid our country of,” he said. “Those who choose this path must know that our law enforcement agencies will be more invigorated to come after them.”

He stressed that tackling corruption is essential to protecting the rights of South Africans and ensuring that public resources are used to improve people’s lives.
