SA reaffirms commitment to gender equality at UN forum

Spokesperson Cassius Selala highlighted key outcomes from the session.
South Africa (SA) has renewed its commitment to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls through strong multilateral co-operation. This comes after it concluded its participation at the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
The Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities says the country continues to play a leading role in global gender equality efforts.
Spokesperson Cassius Selala highlighted key outcomes from the session.
Selala says, “During the CSW70, SA was appointed to serve in the CSW70 communications committee working group, a significant milestone that reinforces the country’s growing leadership in advancing gender equality. As interim chair of the Southern African Development Community, SA presented a resolution on women, the girl child and Human Immunodeficiency Virus/ Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome on behalf of 16 member states for adoption.”
