Concerns are mounting over the state of human rights in Tunisia following the sentencing of prominent activist Saadia Mosbah to eight years in prison.
Mosbah, who has been a leading advocate for sub-Saharan migrants and heads the anti-racism group Mnèmty, was convicted on charges including money laundering, a move her supporters say is part of a broader crackdown on civil society.
The case comes amid growing concerns about shrinking civic space since President Kais Saied consolidated power in 2021.
The rights groups are warning of increasing pressure on activists and organisations working on migration issues.
