Mozambique President Daniel Chapo has begun a three-day official visit to Kenya, his first as head of state on Kenyan soil, at the invitation of President William Ruto.
The visit comes at a time when both countries are seeking to strengthen bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding economic co-operation and attracting foreign investment.
Talks between the two leaders are expected to centre on key sectors of Mozambique’s economy, including agriculture, industry, transport and tourism, as Maputo looks to position itself as an increasingly attractive investment destination.
Mozambican political analyst Alexandre Chivale notes that the visit carries both strategic and economic significance, highlighting opportunities for stronger trade links and knowledge exchange between the two nations.
