Several African governments have imposed sharp fuel price increases as the Iran war drives global oil prices higher, raising fears of inflation across the continent.
In Zambia, authorities have declared the country’s fuel supply situation an emergency, following widespread shortages. Diesel has reportedly disappeared from many parts of the country, disrupting key economic sectors.
Information and Media Minister Cornelius Mweetwa says the move is aimed at stabilising supply and managing the growing crisis as the conflict in the Middle East continues to impact global markets.
