Chinese Ambassador to South Africa (SA), Wu Peng, has emphasised the importance of stronger media co-operation between China and SA.
He says it is key to improve mutual understanding and people to people relations.
He was speaking to Channel Africa in Pretoria, Gauteng Province, at the launch of the Sino–SA Media Club, aimed at boosting collaboration between the two countries’ media sectors.
Peng says the initiative will help promote accurate storytelling and support cooperation in trade, education, and investment, noting that direct exchanges between citizens remain limited despite strong diplomatic ties.
On global affairs, Peng addressed the war in Iran, warning of its global impact, including rising energy prices affecting countries like SA.
Peng reiterated China’s call for respect for international law and the United Nations Charter.
