The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League quarter-final stage opens with one of European football’s defining rivalries tonight.
Real Madrid will host Bundesliga log leaders, Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu in Spain.
At the weekend, the Bavarians’ top goal scorer, Harry Kane, missed his side’s clash against Freiburg through injury.
The six-time UEFA champions, Bayern Munich are nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.
They finished second in the Champions’ League group stage, after suffering just one defeat against Arsenal.
And now that they have reached the business end of the tournament, there’s no room for mistakes.
Although there was concern over Kane’s availability, he took part in Monday’s training session.
Bayern have yet to confirm whether he’ll be available to rejoin the starting lineup in Madrid.
But coach Vincent Kompany is optimistic ahead of their match against the 15-time UEFA champions.
