The Zambian government has expressed serious concern over incidents of individuals taking the law into their own hands, including acts that undermine the authority of official leadership.

Zambian police have warned that they will take firm action against anyone found engaging in such unlawful behaviour.

Journalist Ziyenela Zimba said; “The government is sending a clear message that no one is above the law. Vigilante actions put communities at risk, and authorities are determined to hold anyone accountable who tries to take justice into their own hands.”

Zimba reports that the crackdown forms part of broader efforts to maintain law and order and safeguard citizens from harm.
