US Dollar is trading steadily across major African currencies

The United States (US) Dollar is trading steadily across major African currencies, reflecting ongoing pressures in both global and regional markets.

 

In Southern Africa, the Dollar is trading at R16.40 in South Africa and at the same level in Namibia. It is slightly lower in Botswana at 13 Pula 42, while in Zambia it stands at 19 Kwacha 31.

 

Across East Africa, the Dollar is trading at 128 Shillings 86 in Kenya and 155 Birr 63 in Ethiopia. It is exchanging at 3 690 Shillings in Uganda and 2 590 Shillings in Tanzania.

 

In West Africa, the Dollar continues to trade strongly at 1 379 Naira in Nigeria, underscoring persistent currency pressures.

 

Meanwhile, in North Africa, the Dollar is trading at 53 Egyptian Pounds 73 in Egypt, 2 Dinars 90 in Tunisia, 131 Dinars 50 in Algeria, and 9 Dirhams 22 in Morocco.

 

In Central and Southern Africa, the Dollar is trading at 912 Kwanza in Angola and 2 280 Francs in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

 

The figures highlight the continued strength of the US Dollar across the continent, with many local currencies remaining under pressure amid global economic uncertainty.
