A charity co-founded by Prince Harry in honour of his late mother Princess Diana has launched legal action against him in the High Court in London.
The Lesotho-based HIV/AIDS organisation Sentebale is suing the British royal for defamation, alleging he was part of what it describes as a co-ordinated “adverse media campaign” that caused reputational harm to the charity and its leadership.
The dispute follows Prince Harry’s departure from the organisation last year after a reported fallout with its Chairperson. Sentebale has long worked with vulnerable young people in Lesotho and Botswana.
In response, a Spokesperson for Prince Harry said he, along with former trustee Mark Dyer, “categorically rejects” the allegations, describing them as offensive and damaging.
The case is expected to be heard in London, as tensions between the charity and its high-profile co-founder move into the courts.
