South Africa’s 2021 unrest
A social media expert has told a South African (SA) court that tweets posted Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla during the 2021 unrest contributed and encouraged violence.
Emma Sadleir was testifying under cross-examination in the trial of the daughter of former President Jacob Zuma.
She faces charges of incitement to violence and sedition, and has pleaded not guilty.
The unrest, which left more than 350 people dead, broke out shortly after Zuma was jailed for contempt of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
