Senior officials from Meta’s Southern Africa team are in Malawi engaging with local entertainment and digital content creators on ways to monetise content shared across its platforms.

The discussions are focused on how creators can be supported and potentially earn income from content posted on Meta-owned social media platforms.

The talks form part of broader efforts to expand the creator economy across Africa, where social media platforms are increasingly becoming a source of income for young digital entrepreneurs.
