African club football is drawing increasing interest from players around the world

African club football is drawing increasing interest from players around the world, as competitions like the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League continue to grow in profile.

Tunisian defender Mohamed Dräger is one of the latest examples. Now playing for Espérance Sportive de Tunis, he previously featured in leagues across Germany, Switzerland and Greece before making the move to North Africa earlier this year.

His journey reflects a broader shift, with more players recognising the opportunities available in African football, both in terms of competition and career growth.

With the CAF Champions League offering greater visibility and high-level matches, the continent’s club game is steadily strengthening its place on the global stage.
