Senior leaders of South Africa’s (SA) African National Congress (ANC), including party President Cyril Ramaphosa, are expected to address the media in Johannesburg on the party’s Local Government Action Plan.
The briefing will take place at Luthuli House and follows last year’s councillor roll call, which brought together around 6 000 ANC councillors and mayors to focus on service delivery challenges and rebuilding public trust ahead of the 2026 local government elections.
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the leadership will outline progress made on the action plan before deploying senior party members across Johannesburg to assess conditions on the ground.
