Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Roger de Sa is set to feature on the touchline at this year’s World Cup

Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Roger de Sa is set to feature on the touchline at this year’s World Cup after being appointed assistant coach of Ghana.

The 61-year-old will once again work alongside veteran Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz, extending a long-standing partnership that has taken the pair across several national teams, including Portugal, Iran, Egypt, Qatar and Oman.

Ghana turned to Queiroz earlier this year following the dismissal of Otto Addo in March. De Sa remains one of his most trusted deputies, with their working relationship dating back to Queiroz’s time in charge of South Africa.

The Black Stars are set to face Mexico in New York and Wales in Cardiff in pre-tournament friendlies, before beginning their Group L campaign against Croatia, England and Panama.
