The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the draw for the African women’s football qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games will take place on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.
A total of 35 national teams, including South Africa women’s national football team, Nigeria women’s national football team, Ghana and Morocco, will compete across five qualifying rounds for just two places at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (LA), United States.
The draw will be broadcast live on CAF TV, with the qualifying campaign expected to highlight the growing strength and competitiveness of women’s football across the continent.
The successful teams will go on to represent Africa at the Olympic Games, scheduled to take place from July 11 to 29, 2028 in LA.
